Fork in the Road

Well, as you all know, I've been working at Rainbow for almost 5 years now. I've been with it since it's been 5 guys in an attic, to now over 150 employees (mostly managers) spread out over two buildings.

We were purchased by THQ about two years ago, and things have gotten more and more corporate ever since. More layers of management have been added to cope with the growing number of employees. We're making "games" that we don't really care about. It's not really a family anymore, just a big business. There are 7 of us who are fed up with the direction things are going, and have decided to break away and start a new studio. One of them is the original owner of Six2 Studios, along with his wife (who just quit Rainbow yesterday). The ball is in motion, and we are having meetings twice a week to discuss our future company. I will most likely quit Rainbow in the coming months, along with 5 others at the same time. Worst case, the business fails and we can put it on our resumes. Best and most likely case, we thrive and take ownership of our future. Risky? A little bit. Worth it? More than anything.
