After the influx of numerous environmental news from the mass media concerning global warming, peak oil, and energy needs, I thought I would share some of the websites which I frequent which really help underline the growing needs for alternative energy and solutions to oil dependency.

Inhabitat - www.inhabitat.com - A great website dealing with housing construction methods, alternative solutions for heating, cooling, and lighting, and discussions dealing with alternative energy sources.

Treehugger - www.treehugger.com - A more consumer based alternative consumption blog. Lots of different products which are earth friendly, as well as discussions on alternative energy around the world.

Tesla Motors Blog - www.teslamotors.com/blog1 - A blog from one of the founders of Tesla Motors, an all electric car company. Their first car, the Roadster, gets an equivalent of 135mpg, can go 250 miles per charge, and reaches 60mph in 4 seconds and a top speed of 150mph.

Make: Blog - www.makezine.com/blog/ - The blog accompanyment for Make Magazine, which I subscribe to. Lots of DIY information! I made my own air conditioner from information off this blog.
