Mummy 3 PosterHello friends and family! It's been a long time since I posted an entry on this blog.. I've been keeping busy updating my work blog, as that is what my life seems to consist of these days!

Mummy 3 IMDB Pubstill 2Given that, here's what has been happening so far this year.. Early in March, I worked on Speed Racer, the movie, which was an abysmal failure at the box office. While the computer generated imagery was top notch, the story and the audience definitely did not connect. I was only on the project for about five weeks, before jumping back onto my regularly scheduled show, The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor. This film comes out this Friday, so make sure to sit around for the credits to check my name! It's under Digital Domain. At the moment I am creating a presentation for SIGGraph 2008, to be held here in Los Angeles, between August 11th and 15th. This won't be the first SIGGraph I've attended, but it will be the first one where I have a significant role! I'll be speaking on behalf of Digital Domain at their booth, describing the work that we did in creating the dragon emperor, and the computer generated environments and characters in the film. Next up on my plate will be Star Trek, which I should be starting on in the next couple of weeks!

Lisa and I have been taking this year slowly, even though it's been progressing fairly quickly! And if you haven't been keeping count, this August will mark a decade that we've been together, four as a married couple! That makes some of you, yes, a decade older since you've seen me. While we haven't had a chance to really get out of the LA area (mostly due to my work schedule this year), we have been improving ourselves and our lives. I'm still attending the gym four times a week, keeping in shape. And believe it or not, I've been tracking my progress for the last 14 months! From 169 to 185 pounds! Not too shabby. It's a little heavier than my competition swimming weight of 175, but that was when I was 17. Lisa's been coming as well to the YMCA, even though some of our workout schedules don't mesh except on the weekends. I go at 6:30am, she goes around 8am.

GS 500I'm still commuting to work on my old motorcycle. Especially now since gas prices are really getting up there! Just recently I filled up my car for 51 dollars, at a price of $4.80 a gallon. Good thing that only happens maybe once a month! Maybe even once every two months! I calculated my gas expenditures for the year, and they're about $20-30 dollars a month, just for the motorcycle, which I take six days a week to work. I'm pretty happy we're so close to it! My MINI has not seen too much action in the past year, but at least it's now all paid off, and the title is now mine! That's one less expenditure a month, and even more that goes into the house fund. :)

Bridal BouquetLisa is having fun here at home, learning scrapbooking, creating custom birthday and holiday cards, of which some of you have been the lucky recipient of! Recently she attended a seniors complex and has been approached to have a small class on scrapbooking. If all goes well, she may decide to start a small sole proprietor business. Very cool.

On the business and invention side of things, I'm currently trying to get my utility patent formed to sent to the USPTO so I can be legally covered for the next 20 years on my product. I'm still trying to get manufacturers and distributors interested, but again, real work has been occupying my life for the past six months. In a similar vein, a coworker and I are starting an online business, which we are currently researching and developing. We're hoping to form a California S Corporation late this year, early next, once we finalize the online database and make sure it's running smoothly. I'll be sure and update you all on that front. It is slightly related to visual effects.

Hopefully now that visual effects work is becoming slightly less busy, I will be able to add more entries to this site! Wishing you all a fun summer, where ever you are!

Hey Guys!

I love the update...Even though I know most of it. =) You forgot to mention meeting your new friends, The Rahhalis end of September 2007. Haha

Seriously, you both ROCK!

Best wishes with your endeavors. xo

Look at you two sexy kids! Satsuki and I miss you both but we feel good knowing that you are both doing well and keeping busy.

I guess i could make a similar post on a similar blog type thing but it would be mostly negative stuff, like breaking my ankle blah blah..haha.

Anyway, I am sure that we'll all hook up soon for some good times, but until then take care!

Love

Finally, you are updating the site. I will now have to keep going back to check on what is happening, not that I don't know already because Lisa keeps me updated. Best of luck to you in August. Hopefully you can spend a little time together.

Happy 10 Years!

xo
